How to Update Your Model

This tool updates your existing Excel model using data extracted from a single PDF period.

1 Upload Files
• Excel Model: The file to update.
• PDF: Single period report (e.g. 10-Q).
2 Reference Column
This is a must-have field. It acts as the anchor to align rows between files.
Definition
  • It is the previous period available in both the PDF and your Excel file.
  • Example: If updating Q2 2024, the Reference is Q2 2023.
  • Example: If updating FY 2024, the Reference is FY 2023.
3 Search Range
Define the area to scan. Combine the Row Header Column and the Reference Column.
Logic Example
  • Scenario: Row Headers are in Column B. Reference data is in Column D. Data ends at Row 155.
  • Input: B1:B155, D1:D155
4 Target Details
• Target Period: The new period name (e.g. Q2 2024).
• Target Column: The Excel letter where new data should go.
